I was here last night---again.
So the only changes in Dubai......are the constant construction of  buildings....look closely you'll see
cranes.

I got him this time.................................!!

I decided to go back to The Dubai Mall today..........so I took the bus to the Metro (it's an automated train that runs through Dubai...it's high tech and great).........

So I'm walking through the mall and guess who I found.............it's 'the guy in the back' of that photo that's to the left of this post showing me with the Toy Master and take a look@ the guy doing the peace sign in the back.

And this is what he was doing...........................

His name is Noewark and he's from the Phillipines.........

I told him I didn't realize what he had done in my pic with the  Toy Master until I downloaded it......we laughed for a couple of minutes and the other store associates joined in.......I said he must have a hard job to do!!!!

There now he doesn't have to hide behind anyone!!


It's amazing what a smile will do...............So keep smiling and when someone doesn't return one back........Oh well, U just keep :)

I'm at the Mall of the Emirates.......this mall has an indoor ski hill...would u believe the ice is brought in from Canada! Really. So I was having a coffee in an air-conditioned mall watching people ski downhill. How ironic?

Wanna see a MALL..............................

I went to the Dubai Mall yesterday...............for 5 hours!! and we still didn't cover the whole mall or touch base with "the bookstore". (Trust me this mall will put a whole new meaning for those shopoholics......... or maybe even be a remedy!!....actually it made me ill by the end!!!!! (Oh Norma........ I wish you were here.........oh the purses......and .........the walking doesn't end!)

So there's more than 1200 stores, and there were many empty ones on the third floor, so if anyone wants to open..........go for it!! And that's besides the restaurants, coffee shops, etc. There's an aquarium (variety of fish, sea animals and SHARKS!, a theme park with rollercoaster and an olympic sized ice rink with a huge screen too (but no zamboni)!! Three huge fountains with the silver plated divers...........trust me no picture was taken twice.........need i say more! Many Cinemas, a Gold Souk (which is a gallery of over 200 gold and jewellery vendors) that's all!
Oh my.......the Candilicious store.........the pic after........take a look at the size of the lollipops....enormous............!!!

And we ended it off having late afternoon lunch at Al Habbib--the best Lebanese restaurant chain, took some pics from balcony table, you'll see the Burj Al Khalifah and fountains surrounding, hotels around and some SUN! (i'm burnt!)

In one of the mall pics, I thought I got the top of the Burj Al Khalifah.......but it was the top of the Address Hotel! (In order to get the whole Burj AL Khalifah in a pic u have to lie down and take a pic......lol......actually that's true.......i'll see if i remember to do

I created a video of all the pics, the reason why I picked this song is because there were so many Julia Roberts Ads + endless stores=this song.....

Al-Souk Madinat Jumeirah

Eeeeek, what a great day!

Went to Souk Madinat, 25 minutes via bus transit and added a nice 30 minute walk (longer and I would've melted (it's still 40)!)

I found my Costas (italian coffee chain and tried there new Flat White coffee, sister would call it-fat white coffee!----its so creamy, yeah that's my kinda stuff... and she's so low-fatfoodie!!.......actually toooooo low-fat foodie (plz. ........sshhhh!!!---i lost 5 lbs in a week)

Took some pics with the BB, met some funky italians and spanish people and wandered around the souk (shops). Oh!Vivel Patisserie.........it's been sooo long!!!!!! (most amazing pastry store, there's one in Montreal)

I haven't seen so many Bentley's, Rolls Royce, Ferrari's, Lambourghini's and Porsche's in my life.....................i just find it mind boggling.....very very very very expensive metal..............I enjoy driving my Japanese car!!!! But then that's just it.........drive whatever puts a SMILE on your face!
(I can recall driving a beater car in high school ('80 FORD!)---that was the funnest, plus it was pure heavy metal!........except for the time I got stuck at an intersection-green light in the left turn during a winter storm and I had an exam.......good thing I was within 3km of school.....cuz it was the day i also RAN the fastest!)

(Gas is cheap here! come on over and fill up.........................................................)

Burj Al-Khalifah last night: Fountain show

We went to the Burj Al-Khalifah (tallest tower in the world) and it's also beside the Dubai Mall which is the world's largest shopping mall.

They have these awesome fountain shows every half hour, ENJOY! (It's just like the fountain shows @ the Bellagio in Las Vegas (remember Norma!!) but longer!

AMR DIAB .....................Habibi

The Amr Diab concert was absolutely AMAZING!!!!!!!!!

I would see him again in a heartbeat, there were audio troubles in beginning but he explained and was such a gent--he LOVES what he does and IT SHOWS!,  i will post the bits of video i got (only a couple of minutes......i was having too much FUN).

(we were in a VIP section but what made the night even more memorable---there were 15 Egyptian gents who were absolute die hard fans and they were singing and dancing was fantastic.......... an added bonus for the night!)

Flight was the best i've had so far! Fly Emirates!
My Captain was: Nigel Francis and another Brit accent and 2 Arabs......but apparently.....My sis told me that all Emirate Airline pilots are CANADIAN!!! Yeah! Go Figure :)
The plane was an AirBus 380-----it was huge, kinda like a Titanic plane. The whole flight was excellent, there were 36 crew members on board.....need I say more. It was alittle chilly and there was one female passenger who was wearing EAR muffs......kinda 2 in 1 (no noise but with warmth! )

I was telling Hilwa that I hope there are kiddies on the plane, children are wonderful. Well, I got my wish, I think all the babies were in my section.
The seat next to me was EMPTY, with an elderly Indian woman and her daughter in the other 2.  She was a cutie and we shared the empty seat.

My sis welcomed me, oh it was so wonderful to see her, she's the best. On our way to my fave place, it's so gorgeous even at night.

@ Pearson................

Yes!, thanks to Moe my brother (1 of 4).......i made it to Pearson. Thanks again and i love you, your an awesome brother too! What a ride that was, the nerve of that person, Way to go ! i don't think they'll do that to anyone again. (Su ask Moe!!).......don't mess with Moe or he'll break your toe!!

I managed to find a Tim Horton's, it was difficult at first, yes there were maps but I wasn't in the mood......and anyhow there was a police officer in front of the map.......so I asked him..........he was kind....he said "it's down the escalator, under my office".
So I got my last large coffee: double cream and one sweetener..... until God know's when.........the harder part was finding a chair to sit.....phew......it's getting real busy in here and the humidity.......uh, oh.
I checked in and unfortunately my request for a window seat was declined but i got lucky with an 'aisle' seat........oh goodie, don't have to ask anyone to move to get up, but i'll get asked to do so!!!
I haven't entered the gate to the boarding area of my plane yet................i always like to scan to see amongst whom i will be enclosed in a flying dynamic aircraft...........for 12 and a half hours!!!

While having breakfast this morning with my boys, my younger one, Khalil decided to tell me a story.
He stated "Momma did you hear on the news about the plane, the one that it's roof went flying off", I held my composure, but inside I was why on earth he would be bringing up something like that on my departure date.............I thought OMG. What bugged me was that he appeared serious. I said "no such thing has happened", he then continued to ask "what happens if the plane crashes in the ocean and you swallow salt water"..............Dear God I said to myself. I understand that alot goes thru one's head when there is travel on the horizon but...........Avril Lavigne's song-'what the hell' started playing in my head!!! I told him I loved him and informed him that ......while we are all going thru this life one never knows what will transpire as anything can happen and you just deal with any situation whenever it may arise, but do your best to always think of the positive AND learn. I love my boys and I'm so proud of them.  I do my best to give them endless hugs and kisses ( with red lipstick on to leave a mark!) And to be fair to Khalil, my other brother Abu Abdullah was over yesterday and I told him that I know he's busy and didn't have to come, he said "of course I do, your my sister, i love you and what happens if (well u get the picture--another Khalil story)........GULP !!!!

This coffee is wonderful, or is it the fact that I know it will be my last Tim's for awhile! There is a Starbuck's here too..................but I'm so TIM HORTON'S, eh!! I have to admit i've been to many airports all over the world and Dubai's old one is the best......they got the palm trees!!

This will be my 3rd trip to Dubai..........I'm so blessed! I've been running around to stores getting my last minute stuff and when the store associates ask where i'm going and I reply Dubai.................i usually get "u going to do the shopping".................I say "no, I'm going to see my amazing sister and the added bonus is SUN".

I was supposed to go back in February but I kept declining..................I guess it wasn't my time and since then so many wonderful things in my life have happened, especially with my boys and I.

The past 3 years have been particularily hell for me, my friends and family are aware of what I have entailed and have supported me so profoundly and for that I'm forever great.

I'm at peace and I haven't felt this way in a long time.

I thank you and Love you all.

It's the right time now! :)


P.S---I'm @ boarding gate..........oh look another Tim's.....therefore another coffee......My order: Lg. Decaf 2 cr 1sw and a sour cream glazed timbit. What I got: Lg Decaf 2 cr NO sw and a plain timbit. I'm sure I said my order in english!

To Dubai............

So, I'm getting ready to go, countdown is on! Got my visa. Yes! It's been over a year since I was last in Dubai. It's going to be a fun challenge to see what changes have taken place as Dubai is so known for their high speed of development and innovative architectural designs, not to mention world records.

Fly Emirates it's the best way to go!

So come with me, let's explore this great city..................
